There will be a chance to sample lots of exciting Easter holiday activities as Lings Forum Leisure Centre opens its doors to showcase what will be on offer to children this Easter. With over 20 different activities under one roof, children will be able to join in with an afternoon of activities on Saturday 29 March.

Every week, across four leisure centres, Northampton Leisure Trust offers a huge range of fun sports and healthy activities for young people to get involved in. With even more organised for the Easter holidays the Leisure Trust is giving young people a chance to sample everything that will be going on with a special open day. The afternoon is open to all children under 14, there will be opportunities to try street dance, cheerleading, karate, football, arts &crafts and get up close with spiders, snakes and all things reptile to name just a few.

The session is free to Junior Active members, and just £3 to anyone else. There is no need to book, just come along on Saturday between 1pm and 6pm.

Ian Redfern, Managing Director of Northampton Leisure Trust said: “This session is a great way to find out more about the huge number of activities we are organising for the school holidays. Getting involved in sport at a young age sets the groundwork for a healthy lifestyle, gaining new skills and confidence, and most importantly learning to enjoy being active with friends. map markerDanes Camp Gymnastics Club Celebrates March Competition Success



March is proving to be a very successful month for Danes Camp gymnasts with the club celebrating medals across multiple competitions.

The Northamptonshire Amateur Gymnastics Association Floor and Vault County Competition took place on 2 March resulting in medals in every age group and four county champions for Danes Camp. This weekend saw girls from the club competing in the East Midlands Regional Grades and walking away with silver and bronze medals in their age groups.  In addition some of the younger girls competed in the General Floor and Vault Competition in Chesterfield with two age group fourth places out of 30 competitors.



“I’m very proud of the girls and the way they have competed over the past couple of weeks”, commented Sharon Green, Danes Camp Gymnastics Club Head Coach. “For some of the girls these have been their first competitions and they have really held it together. We are lucky to have such a happy club, fantastically supportive parents and girls who really support each other all of the time.”

About Danes Camp Gymnastics Club

Danes Camp Gymnastics Club was formed in 2006 and has 230 recreational gymnasts, including preschool classes and a teen gym group. The club has an elite squad of 10 gymnasts and a general advanced girls group of 45.
