There will be a chance to get a sneak peek of all the exciting half-term activities as Lings Forum Leisure Centre opens its doors to children of all ages to showcase what will be on offer during the school holidays.

Every week, across four leisure centres, Northampton Leisure Trust offers a huge range of fun sports and healthy activities for young people to get involved in. With even more organised for half-term week the Leisure Trust is giving young people a chance to sample everything that will be going on with two special sessions.

Children (under 14s) will be able to join in with an afternoon of activities on Saturday 19 October. There will be opportunities to try street dance, cheerleading, boxing, judo, football, computer gaming on a cinema screen and our roller disco to name just a few.

Sessions are free to Junior Direct Debit members, and just £3 to anyone else. There is no need to book, just come along on Saturday between 1pm and 6pm.

Ian Redfern, Managing Director of Northampton Leisure Trust said: “This session is a great way to find out more about the huge number of activities we are organising for the school holidays.

“Getting involved in sport at a young age can have any number of benefits in future life. It is setting the groundwork for a healthy lifestyle, gaining new skills and confidence, and most importantly learning to enjoy being active with friends. So come along to Lings Forum Leisure Centre and find out what will be happening during half-term.”

This month parents and pre-schoolers can find out what activities are available on their doorstep to get a healthy head start in life at a free morning of activities and fun at Lings Forum Leisure Centre.

On Tuesday 22 October ‘Roary the Lion’ will be showing under 5s (and parents too) what his Cubz get up to with a free morning of fun. Every week Northampton Leisure Trust runs a range of activities designed to give toddlers and pre-schoolers the best possible start in life.

The event is being held at Lings Forum Leisure Centre and youngsters will get a chance to see the Soccer Cubz (football), Rugby Cubz (rugby), Boogie Cubz (Dance), Jumpin’ Cubz (trampolining) and Gym Cubz (gymnastics) in action as well as try out the Soft Zone (soft play) and enjoy a mums and tots session in the pool.

Ian Redfern, Managing Director of Northampton Leisure Trust said: “Being physically active every day is important for the healthy growth and development of babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers. We offer a fun and safe environment for youngsters to enjoy, explore, socialise and learn with new things to do and get involved in every week. It is also a good place for parents to meet other parents.

“So I would encourage parents and little ones to come along to Lings Forum Leisure Centre and find out what we offer.”

The open morning is completely free and runs from 10am-1pm at Lings Forum Leisure Centre. There is no need to book, so come along and see what we have to offer. For more information please contact the Sport and Play Development Team 01604 838036.
