NLT Play Day 34 smallNational Play Day returns to Abington Park on 3 August between 12pm-4pm with an afternoon of free activities to keep children of all ages entertained and active.






Now in its 8th year in Northampton, National Play Day activities for 2016 include the return of the climbing wall, arts & crafts, science displays and workshops, reptile display, dedicated activities for under 5s and of course the land train!

Organised by Northampton Leisure Trust (NLT), parents and children will also have the opportunity to give their views on children’s play facilities and opportunities across Northampton. In addition NLT employees will be on hand to signpost parents and children as to what else is on across Northampton to keep kids active this summer holiday.

Chris Serbyn, Play and Health Development Officer at Northampton Leisure Trust said, “playing freely is a natural and necessary part of childhood and children need the time and space to do it. It’s all of our responsibility to make sure that children have worthwhile opportunities for play. National Play Day is a great opportunity for us all to stand up and shout about children’s rights to freely chosen play!”

This year will be the 8th National Play Day event organised by Northampton Leisure Trust.The event is funded by NLT, Local Cllrs and Northamptonshire Community Foundation, as well as generous sponsorship from a number local business and enterprise including, Northamptonshire Childminding Association, Nottingham Housing Association and the Deco Theatre
