Northampton Leisure Trust has introduced ultraviolet (UV) disinfection to improve water quality and offer a more pleasant swimming pool environment for its customers at Danes Camp Leisure Centre.

UV is a non-hazardous and environmentally friendly technology. It has been proven to be one of the most effective methods for swimming pool disinfection due to its ability to destroy pollution that traditional chlorine finds hard. UV works alongside the chlorination process in the plant room resulting in a much reduced chlorine dose needing to be introduced into the pool.

Ian Redfern, Managing Director of Northampton Leisure Trust said: “Our customers are our priority and we are committed to providing them with the best swimming environment we possibly can across our three pools. UV greatly reduces the levels of chlorine required to keep our swimming pools safe and clean resulting in crystal clear water and much improved air quality.”

“We will continue to invest in UV technology and plan to introduce UV disinfection to Mounts Baths and Lings Forum over the next two years.”
