50+ Walking Football

Walking Football is taking place at Duston Sports Centre

If you thought your football career was over, think again! Walking Football is a slower paced version of the game, aimed at the over 50’s.

Smaller pitches and plenty of breaks ensure participants enjoy a safe and enjoyable return to football. The slower pace doesn’t detract from the competition though – it’s much more than a stroll in the park!

Come down and give it a go – we’re confident that once you’ve tried it, you’ll love it! Walking Football is an excellent opportunity for a bit of physical activity and the chance to get out the house and meet new people.

1 hour session includes plenty of breaks.”

map markerRugby……Engage, Try, Convert

Northamptonshire Sport, in partnership with England Rugby and the Spirit of 2012 Trust, have recently launched a new and exciting project that aims to take the sport of Rugby Union into new communities across Northamptonshire.

Engage. Try. Convert aims to involve previously disengaged communities across Northamptonshire in Rugby Union. Building upon the inspiration of the 2015 Rugby World Cup and the inclusion of Rugby in the 2016 Rio Olympic and Paralympic Games, the project will provide participants aged 16-24 from the Eastern European community with a platform to enjoy the many benefits of Rugby Union.

What activities are we offering?

  •          New rugby events and activities, specifically designed to suit you and your friends/colleagues
  •          Signposting to existing rugby sessions in your local community
  •          Make new friends in a fun and sociable environment
  •          Get fitter and healthier
  •          Develop communication skills
  •          Improve your decision making
  •          Learn more about the unique culture of Rugby Union

What are the benefits?

Engage. Try. Convert forms part of a nationwide project, co-ordinated by England Rugby and funded by the Spirit of 2012 Trust, called Spirit of Rugby. The Spirit of Rugby project will focus on 15 communities across the country; working in 5 communities in Rugby World Cup host cities, 5 in communities hosting Rugby World Cup training bases and 5 communities that are remote from the direct impact of the Rugby World Cup.
