The new Mounts Baths swimming changing area is now open!

Take a walk through our new light, bright, fresh and accessible changing area at Mounts Baths with Area Manager Danielle.

Northampton Borough Council (NBC) in partnership with Northampton Leisure Trust (NLT) and with the support of Sport England, Swim England and Northamptonshire Sport has made considerable improvements to Mounts Baths swimming changing rooms.

Opened in 1936, Mounts Baths is an iconic facility, one of only two art deco facilities in the country.  The centre has many of its original features and is a listed designated Grade II building, a principal reason for its listing is that it’s a particularly good example of a Modern Movement swimming pool. NLT is a member of the Historic Pools of Britain Association which supports projects which protect and restore historic pools.

We asked for customer feedback on Mounts Baths changing facilities and are confident the new design meets the needs of all of our customers. The new communal open plan changing area meets the Sport England specification based on its experience and extensive customer research.
