Trilogy ‘Inspired Training & Coaching’ can offer a range of First Aid Training Course all of which comply with the Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.

  • Our First Aid Training Courses are fully accredited by the Royal Lifesaving Society UK (RLSS) who are one of the 13 awarding organisations able to deliver Ofqual accredited First Aid qualifications.
  • You can book onto one of our programmed courses or we can tailor a course to meet your individual needs which can be delivered on your premises if required at times to suit you (weekdays, evenings or weekends).
  • Candidates will be continuously assessed and on successful completion of the course will be issued with a First Aid at Work Certificate, valid for 3 years..

Level 3 Full First Aid at Work Course (3 day) & Renewal Course (2 day). Complies with the Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 and fully accredited by the Royal Lifesaving Society UK (RLSS).

The course syllabus will cover:

  • Priorities of a First Aider
  • Managing Incidents
  • Basic Life Support and CPR
  • Examination of a Casualty
  • Unconsciousness
  • Control of Bleeding
  • Burns and Scalds
  • Fractures, Sprains and Strains
  • Contents of a First Aid Box
  • Recording and Reporting

Completion of the course will provide you with the knowledge and practical skills to effectively deal with a range of emergency first aid needs. Candidates on the course will be continuously assessed and on successful completion of the course will be issued with a First Aid at Work Certificate that is valid for 3 years.

Level 2, Emergency First Aid at Work Course (1day).

  • Complies with the Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 and fully accredited by the Royal Lifesaving Society UK (RLSS).
  • This qualification gives the learner the knowledge and skills to deal with emergency life threatening conditions
    e.g.
    • Basic Life Support,
    • Choking,
    • Serious Bleeding & Unconsciousness.
  • Candidates on the course will be continuously assessed and on successful completion of the course will be issued with a First Aid at Work Certificate that is valid for 3 years.

Level 2, Paediatric First Aid (2 day)

  • This qualification is specifically for people who work with or look after children e.g. nursery staff, classroom assistants etc.
  • The course gives the learners basic knowledge & skills to deal with a child emergency situation e.g. basic life support, chocking, bleeding & unconsciousness.
map markerRLSS UK National Pool Lifeguard Course (NPLQ)8th Edition

The RLSS NPLQ is the most widely recognised lifeguard qualification in the UK and Ireland that complies with the industry guidance contained within the HSE publication ‘Managing Health & Safety in Swimming Pools’. Generally, the NPLQ is a recruitment requirement for a number of jobs from Pool Lifeguard to Centre Manager. On successful completion of the course you will be fully qualified to work as a Pool Lifeguard.

Pre Requisites Every candidate, prior to commencement of training for the NPLQ must:

  • Be 16 years of age at the time of taking the NPLQ assessment;
  • Be able to meet the following basic fitness criteria:-
  • Jump / dive into deep water
  • Swim 50 metres in less than 60 seconds
  • Swim 100 metres continuously on front and back in deep water.
  • Tread water for 30 seconds
  • Surface dive to the floor of the pool
  • Climb out unaided without ladder / steps and where the pool design permits

Course Content Training and assessment for the NPLQ is in three sections and all must be successfully passed to attain the NPLQ.

  • Section 1 - The Lifeguard and the Law, Swimming Pool Supervision
    • Element 1 – The Lifeguard and the Law
    • Element 2 – Swimming Pool, Hazards and Control Measures
    • Element 3 – Swimming Pool Supervision
  • Section 2 - Intervention and Rescue and Emergency Action Plans
    • Element 1 – Intervention and Rescue
    • Element 2 – Rescue of a Casualty with a Suspected Spinal Injury
    • Element 3 – Emergency Action Plan
  • Section 3 - Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, AED, and First Aid
    • Element 1 – Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
    • Element 2 – Automated External Defibrillation (AED)
    • Element 3 – First Aid

Element 2 of Section 3 can include an optional bolt of AED on to the qualification. Course Assessment Assessment for the NPLQ takes place at the conclusion of a training course for a minimum of 36 hours over 5 days or a number of weeks. The validity period of the award is 2 years from the date of assessment.

map markerNational Rescue Award for Swimming Teachers and Coaches (NRASTC)

This qualification trains the practical lifesaving skills that may be needed by anyone teaching or coaching swimming or another programmed activity in the pool.

  • The qualification is endorsed by the Amateur Swimming Association and the institute of Swimming Teachers & Coaches.
  • It is also recognised in ‘Managing Health & Safety in Swimming Pools’ as being appropriate for those supervising programmed activities.
  • There are no prerequisites for this qualification.
  • This is not a Lifeguard Qualification.
  • Course duration is 12 hours, normally over 2 days, with an independent assessment.
  • The validity period of the award is 2 years from the date of the assessment.
